Development, Fundraising & Marketing integrated at its best – Rockport Golf Academy
I am currently working with Rockport School, engaged to help guide the School’s development and fundraising strategy. It became evident that one of Rockport’s distinctive advantages was its location amongst some of the best golf courses in Northern Ireland. Quite significantly was its special relationship with Royal Belfast GC and also Holywood GC, the home club of Rory McIlroy.
To give the School a uniqueness that no other could claim, this week we launched the first school-based golf academy in Northern Ireland – at Rockport. Using the expertise of several leading Professionals and the facilities of leading courses, the School has a special opportunity now to attract pupils from throughout the UK and Europe and possibly further, who are seeking a quality British education alongside a realistic and flexible approach to the needs and talents of pupils. Rockport has this!
Having created the golf academy at Loretto in Edinburgh, 14 years ago, it has been rewarding to establish the structure of Northern Ireland’s first and join the success of NI golf with at least three recent Majors’ winners including Rory McIlroy. This initiative will have immediate benefits for recruitment and fundraising and give the School an even broader international reputation.
