The Development Committee
Working with a prominent school in the South-East of England that has a development committee that has been finding its feet, although its most recent meeting saw it come to the realisation that its makeup and purpose must be clearly defined.
Without appreciating the variety and mix of its members, almost by mistake, in these early days it has the Hadmaster, three Governors (all who are donors) and three current parents (also donors to both capital and bursary programmes).
The committee has moved quickly from being an initial development steering group, to a group of enthusiastic individuals, leading by example and prepared to encourage others by hosting events, actively asking and acting as ambassadors for development.
The members are now providing real support and encouragement to both the Headmaster and Development office and fully understand their role – a great example and after only a few meetings!
