British International Schools Conference
Very happy to have been part of the excellent COBIS conference at Prague British School this week. Beautiful city and lovely school! Inspirational to be with marketing, development and admissions staff representing schools from all over the world and good to see a growing commitment to alumni relations and fundraising. COBIS: doing a great job with professional development and I’m delighted to be involved and supporting these schools serving the needs of third culture kids!
My presentations covered the preparation and readiness for international schools to undertake major fundraising and also the steps to secure donations that make a real difference. International schools in the main, do not have the resources to establish and operate a fully functional development office as some schools in the UK can do and establishing alumni programmes can be frustrating! So it is essential to cut through the mire of activities and streamline the steps that will bring about immediate success.
The diverse backgrounds and cultures as well as the prolific movement of families and sometimes lack of longevity of staff and pupils, affects how they need to structure a development programme.
